Amy grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota and graduated from Red Wing High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from University of Chicago in 2002. She graduated from University of Minnesota Law School and was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in 2006. In 2019, Amy was admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar.
