Firm History

Speight Anderson & Lappegaard, P.A. can trace its roots to Francis H. Watson – judge, city and county attorney, as well as a life-long resident of Red Wing.  Francis opened his law office in 1933 and served the community until his death in 1986.

Kent W. Speight joined Francis in 1975 and the firm soon became Watson & Speight, P.A.  Kent was integral in focusing the firm’s expertise in real estate and banking law.  Kent retired from the practice of law in 2020.
